1. General Definitions and Interpretations
● “Company” refers to Summit Shutters Limited. “Buyer” refers to the individual or company placing an order.
● These terms form the full contract between buyer and company and can only be changed in writing by the company.
2. Quotations
● All quotations are invitations to order and not binding offers.
● An order is confirmed only upon receipt of a signed acceptance and/or deposit.
● The company reserves the right to decline any order.
● All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
● A purchase order from the buyer is considered the offer, and acceptance by the company makes the contract binding.
● Prices are subject to change without notice until confirmed in writing.
3. Retention of Title
● Goods remain the property of the company until full payment is received.
● If payment is not made, the company may repossess, resell, or remove the goods from the buyer’s premises.
4. Payment Terms
● A deposit of 50% is required at the time of order.
● Unless a credit arrangement is in place, goods must be paid in full before delivery/installation.
5. Delivery
● Delivery dates are estimates only and may vary due to circumstances beyond the company's control.
● Responsibility for goods passes to the buyer once fitted and signed for.
6. Buyer Obligations
● The buyer must provide clear access to the installation site.
● Any additional work required (e.g. electrical, structural, or decorating) is the buyer’s responsibility unless agreed otherwise.
7. Liability
● Buyers must check goods against their order upon delivery/installation.
● Exact colour matches cannot be guaranteed due to natural material variations.
● Minor imperfections that do not affect performance are not considered defects.
● Products are not guaranteed against damage from sunlight or damage caused by damp.
● The company is not liable for consequential losses; liability is limited to the order value.
● Panel size tolerance is ±2mm, and warping tolerance is 1mm per 300mm.
● The company will take reasonable care during installation but is not liable for pre-existing structural issues or defects.
● The company’s liability is limited to the value of the products and services supplied.
● The company is not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
8. Buyer’s Right to Cancel
● As products are bespoke and made-to-measure, orders cannot be cancelled once placed, except where goods are faulty or misdescribed (the buyer’s statutory rights still apply).
9. Seller’s Right to Cancel
● The company reserves the right to cancel an order if the technical survey reveals significant differences from the original quotation.

Definitions and Interpretation

● These terms form the company's guarantee on products and installation and can only be changed in writing by the company.
Product & Installation Warranty
The company warrants that the product will remain free from defects in materials or workmanship for the applicable warranty period, provided that the product has been left as installed by the company.
Any resale or relocation of the product or components will result in the warranty becoming void, unless transfer of warranty has been agreed in advance with the company.
This warranty is exclusive to Summit Shutters Limited in lieu of all other obligations, liabilities or warranties. Any repairs of defective product remakes are the sole remedy under this warranty. In no event will the company be liable for any costs to remove or re-install the product. This warranty does not include any charges, such as freight or labor for measuring and installation.
This warranty does not cover any conditions of or damage to the product or window due to unauthorised repairs, accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, act of god, wear and tear or failure to follow the company's instructions with respect to measurement, installations, cleaning or maintenance. If any improper, inappropriate, or unauthorised replacement parts, repairs or maintenance is used on the company's products, the warranty will become void. This warranty excludes all liability from the company, for removal of the shutter and re-installation in the same or another window, or damage to the window frame, glass or any other portion of the window.
Due to natural variation in colour, grain and texture of raw materials used in the product, the company is not able to guarantee any matches on subsequent orders. Returns due to colour variation will not be authorised by the company due to these conditions.
This warranty excludes all liability for consequential or incidental damages for any cause whatsoever.
Quality Assurance:
● The product is made using advanced technology combined with hand finishing.
● Timber for hardwood products is carefully stored for six months, then kiln-dried twice to minimise warping and twisting.
● Each product is pre-assembled before shipping to ensure a perfect fit, then disassembled and securely packaged.
Summit Shutters Limited guarantees that products supplied and fitted by the company will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable warranty period, starting from the date of installation. This guarantee is subject to the terms and conditions of this warranty and is subject to the following:
● The warranty is valid only if the products are installed by Summit Shutters Limited using original materials and components.
● The warranty does not apply to products installed in commercial or rental premises (e.g. hotels, bars, or restaurants), unless otherwise agreed.
● Any resale or transfer of the product voids the warranty unless the company's transfer option has been arranged in advance.
● The company's liability is limited to repair or replacement of defective products. The company are not responsible for incidental costs such as removal, reinstallation, shipping, or labour.
● Repairs will be made using similar or equivalent parts.
Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover:
● Damage caused by: accidents; misuse; abuse; unauthorised repairs or alterations; wear and tear, and acts of God.
● Issues caused by cleaning, or maintenance.
● Natural variations in wood colour, grain, or texture.
● Fading or colour differences over time.
● Damage to window frames, glass, or surrounding structures.
Coverage:
● Shutter material - Up to 10 Years
● Colour fastness - Up to 5 Years
● Structure - Up to 5 Years
● Hardware - Up to 5 Years
● Stainless Steel Hardware - Up to 5 Years
Installation Warranty:
The workmanship of installation by Summit Shutters Limited is guaranteed for 10 years. This excludes damage caused by faults in the window frame or surrounding structure (e.g. damp plasterboard or failing reveals).
All of the company's shutter products are sealed with quality decorator's caulk which can over time shrink or discolour when left unpainted. Painting and upkeep of decorator's caulk is the responsibility of the buyer.
Transfer of Warranty:
If the property is sold, the warranty may be transferred. The original buyer should contact the company directly. Summit Shutters Limited will carry out a survey to assess the condition of the shutters and, subject to approval, transfer the warranty to the new owner. Please note that an additional survey fee will be charged for this service.
